The scans from the native Camera app after cropping are of exactly the same quality as the auto-cropped scans from Pic Scanner Gold and Photomyne. The apparent reduction in scan quality is because cropping discards the unwanted pixels (Everything other than the photo itself). Used correctly, the apps save a lot of effort.
